A WOTHM is a Work-Outside-The-Home-Mom.  The other option for many moms besides a Stay-At-Home-Mom (SAHM).  I've never liked using the term "working" mom because we moms ALL work whether we are at home most of the time or not.  Some of us spend 40 (or more) hours per week at an office, hospital, classroom or some other place where we earn money to support our families.  Others of us are blessed to have the opportunity to spend all of our time focusing on educating and rearing our children.  Regardless of our situations, we are all hoping to provide what our families need and fulfill our vocations as wives and mothers to our children.

I have had quite a journey to acceptance of my role to work outside the home full-time and balance a household where my husband works full-time outside the home and we have our children in Catholic school.

I decided to create a central place for these posts.  I revisit the topic every so often because there are always new struggles and blessings to share with other women.  I am always looking to learn more from other moms in similar situations so that I can do a better job of fulfilling my own vocation as a WOTHM - both the motherhood and wifely aspects.

  1. I was just thinking to myself the other day how all of these blogging moms I admire are stay at home moms, and how I'd like to find someone who works outside the home like me! Glad I ran across your blog today! I found you via The Little Catholic Bubble. I can't wait to read more!

  2. Just found you through twitter. I'm another WOTHM, although we are "almost" empty nesters. (We have 1 son who is out of high school but still living at home.) It's good to know there are some of us out there!

Thank you for reading. I enjoy reading other perspectives, please feel free to share yours. :)
